The Infinite Impact campaign recently expanded the $600 million goal to reach a historic goal of $1 billion by 2020. To celebrate the new goal, the Mississippi State University Foundation hosted a campaign celebration at The Mill on the evening of Friday, October 7, 2016. A total of 9 research emphasis from each College at Mississippi State University were selected for this campaign celebration to showcase and present their finest research. Neuromechanics laboratory’s “footwear biomechanics” research headed by Drs. Harish Chander and Adam Knight was selected to represent the College of Education.

Dr. Chander’s and Dr. Knight’s research focuses on the impact of different footwear ranging from occupational, military, athletic and recreational footwear and their impact on human performance. The Neuromechanics laboratory’s footwear biomechanics research aims to prevent lower extremity injuries and improve individual safety and performance.

Drs. Chander, Knight, graduate and undergraduate students attended the event and had an opportunity to explain the lab’s research to the MSU foundation’s elite donors. The event was a great success and provided to be yet another avenue for the Neuromechanics Laboratory to increase the visibility, name recognition and “brand” identity of the Department of Kinesiology and also to enhance faculty and student academic achievement, which is one of the mission statements and goal of the Department of Kinesiology’s strategic plan.
