(March 10, 2023), Starkville, MS -- The Department of Kinesiology hosted Dr. Julie Rennison, Research Associate in the Department of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Sciences at the Cleveland Clinic on Friday March 10th for a WebEx Graduate Seminar. The topic was "The Powerhouse of the Cell and the Powerhouse of the Home: Striving for Work/Life Balance as a Scientist and Scholar." Dr. Rennison spoke for an hour on two primary issues. First, she spoke on her ongoing research on atrial fibrillation. Second, she talked about her academic and career path and the lessons she's learned along the way related to work/life balance. She then answered questions from faculty and students on "prioritizing values", avoiding the trap of "comparing yourself to others" and "motherhood in academia".
